If you’ve ever considered running a 5k race, or if you would like help getting back into running or improving your race times, Raleigh Running Mamas (powered by Stroller Strides of Raleigh, www.strollerstrides.net/raleigh) offers 5k and 10k race training designed for specifically for moms!
Beginners are welcome, no experience necessary! This semi-annual running program for moms of all ages and fitness levels has become extremely popular the past several seasons, and moms rave about how empowering it is to set a goal and work towards it, crossing that finish line with the support of their family as well as fellow Running Mamas at the end of the program.
This spring's program offers training options for either working or stay at home moms, with weekday AND/OR weekend training sessions, in West Cary, Southwest Raleigh, and Apex. You can attend one or both of the coached weekly sessions, and you’ll receive a training plan to complete 1-2 additional runs on your own each week, along with weekly training emails, clinics on topics that include reducing injury, buying the right shoes, nutrition & hydration for runners, etc, plus additional sessions such as Yoga for Runners and Core Workouts for runners, personalized guidance from our experienced coaches, and race day photos by our team photographer.

Sundays, 5pm, Apex Community Park (aka Lake Pine)
West Cary:

Given how tough it can be for moms to create time for their own fitness and well-being, signing up for an official race, and a training program with other moms, can be just the motivation that moms need to start creating a healthier lifestyle. As one mom from the fall program said, "I'm proud of being able to run 3 miles and starting a healthy habit that I can maintain for the rest of my life."
More feedback from last season’s moms:
"For anyone who has never run before, or for someone who has run in the past and wants to get back into it, this is a phenomenal program. I learned so much about running, my physiological abilities, and tips for making myself better."
"It doesn't matter where you are physically, not running to maybe jogging for a few minutes, anyone can do this program and finish a 5K at the end!"
"I never dreamed of running a race, but now I am hooked! I'm so thrilled with my progress and I plan on keeping up the running because I've discovered I'm capable of so much more than I thought possible!"
