Marbles Olympics Opening Day is July 12

Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh is gearing up for the opening day of Marbles Olympics July 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Highlights include an appearance by Carolina Hurricanes Captain Rod Brind'Amour at the Center Ice exhibit, a Kids Decathlon and Spirit of the Games. Brind'Amour will be on site between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., and will also spend some time signing autographs. A Fun Place to Eat in Carrboro

Although I haven't tried the Southern Rail Restaurant in Carrboro yet, I plan to when my kids track out during July.



I spent the day in Carrboro yesterday for a story assignment, and came across the restaurant while taking a walking tour of the town (in 100 degree weather, mind you). The manager let me walk through and snap a few photos.

Bond Lake - A great place to spend Sunday afternoon



Wow! I had no idea about this place! We've been to Bond Park many times, but never ventured down the road that takes you to Bond Lake. My wife and I decided to go check it out, based off of recommendations here. Our son is 7 and loves to go fishing, but had yet to catch his first. Well, this was the day!!!
