Event Description
Register for camp through Town of Cary Parks and Rec Dept.
Write and learn songs and techniques of one of North Carolina’s most popular homegrown musical styles: Bluegrass! Taught by veteran musicians Charles Pettee, Pattie Hopkins, and Lynda Dawson, this camp will build and develop musical skills while encouraging confidence, creativity, and collaboration.
Each class is limited to 12 students between the ages of 8 and 16. All classes will be held at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center. Each weeklong session includes 5 classes and costs $93 for Cary residents and $121 for nonresidents. Instrument rental is NOT included.
Intermediate Bluegrass Guitar (9-noon), Beginner Bluegrass Fiddle (9-noon), Intermediate Bluegrass Mandolin (1-4pm), Intermediate Bluegrass Fiddle (1-4pm), Bluegrass Songwriting (1-4pm).
The camp will culminate with a special student performance with the Kickin Grass Band on Friday night, June 29, as part of Cary’s Starlight Concert Series.
